Does the book selling hype about May 21st 2011 compare with accepted Biblical Chronology
make your own mind up please!

Below is a scripture and events based chronology and timeline
for those who may have read an assumption that Bible chronology points to
2011 as being the 7000th year after God's words to Noah were uttered.

The timings on the right are PURE CONJECTURE & have no scriptures to indicate a time stream whereas
births and deaths of Bible characters based on the older Masoretic txt show a valid timestream below right up
until modern historical events.

The dates on the left of the timestream below are B.C. and on the right are the date after creation of Adam

What is noteable is that two events coincided in the year of 2370 BC and these events categorically put the Flood in that year. One was the Flood itself and the other
is the death of Methuselah. From Adam’s creation to the Flood.

The 1,656 years of this period are set out in Genesis 5:1-29; 7:6, and they may be outlined as shown in the chart at the lower left.
From Adam’s creation to the birth of Seth 130 years
Then to the birth of Enosh 105 years
To the birth of Kenan 90 years
To the birth of Mahalalel 70 years
To the birth of Jared 65 years
To the birth of Enoch 162 years
To the birth of Methuselah 65 years
To the birth of Lamech 187 years
To the birth of Noah 182 years
To the Flood 600 years
Total 1,656 years

These figures shown for the pre-Flood period are those found in the Masoretic text,
on which modern translations of the Hebrew Scriptures are based. These figures
differ from those found in the Greek Septuagint, but the evidence for accuracy
clearly favors the Masoretic text.

While modern historians would extend the period of human habitation on the earth much farther
back than 4026 B.C.E., the facts are decidedly against the position they maintain. The thousands of years of “prehistory” they argue for are dependent on speculation, as can be
seen from this statement by prominent scientist P. E. Klopsteg, who stated: “Come, now, if you will, on a speculative excursion into prehistory. Assume the era in which the species sapiens emerged
from the genus Homo . . . hasten across the millenniums for which present information depends for the most part on conjecture and interpretation
to the era of the first inscribed records, from which some facts may be gleaned.”
—Science, December 30, 1960, p. 1914.

The period of the post-Flood era begins with the year 2369 B.C.E. Whereas some would assign certain pictographic writings to the period 3300 to 2800 B.C.E. (New Discoveries in Babylonia About Genesis, by P. J. Wiseman, 1949, p. 36), these are not actually dated documents and their supposed age is based only on archaeological conjecture.

11,013 BC—Creation.  God created the world and man (Adam and Eve).

4990 BC—The flood of Noah’s day.  All perished in a worldwide flood.  Only Noah, his wife, and his 3 sons and their wives survived in the ark (6023 years from creation).

7 BC—The year Jesus Christ was born (11,006 years from creation).

33 AD—The year Jesus Christ was crucified and the church age began (11,045 years from creation; 5023 calendar years from the flood).

1988 AD—This year ended the church age and began the great tribulation period of 23 years (13,000 years from creation).

1994 AD—On September 7th, the first 2300-day period of the great tribulation came to an end and the latter rain began, commencing God’s plan to save a great multitude of people outside of the churches (13,006 years from creation).

2011 AD—On May 21st, Judgment Day will begin and the rapture (the taking up into heaven of God’s elect people) will occur at the end of the 23-year great tribulation.  On October 21st, the world will be destroyed by fire (7000 years from the flood; 13,023 years from creation).

The chart below is a full scripture based chronology as opposed to one based on pure conjecture.

This in no way undermines the gravity of the time period we are now in, but attempts to make an allowance
In such an impoirtant issue, do not serve God based on a date for you do not know what your life will be even tomorrow.
You are a mist appearing for a little while then dissappearing.
Serve God in truth from no till eternity based on what he gave us, namely his Son who died that we might live.
